Hazel Alma Bleich, 93, of Algona, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024, lovingly surrounded by her family. She leaves behind many family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services for Denny Walker of Burt was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Oakcrest Funeral Services in Algona. Burial took place at East Lawn Cemetery following the service, with military rites conducted by the Bancroft American Legion Post #377. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at Oakcrest Funeral Services in Algona.
A memorial service with military honors conducted will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, at the Lone Rock Legion in Lone Rock. Burial will take place at the Fenton Township Cemetery rural Lone Rock.
Candy Ann Edwards, 52, peacefully passed away on July 12, 2024, in Pocahontas surrounded by her family. She fought a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 28, 1972, in Cedar Rapids.
Duane C. Meling, age 92, of Cylinder passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, at his home, the same house where he was born. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Depew, with burial of ashes in the South St. John’s Cemetery. Patrick R. Montag, 95, of Apple Valley, Minn., passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, in his residence at Ecumen Seasons in Apple Valley, Minn.
He was born Aug. 21, 1928, in West Bend to Adolf “Sam” Montag and Lauretta (Brodigan) Montag. He grew up in rural Whittemore where he graduated from Presentation Academy. After graduation, he attended Iowa State University before returning home to farm.

Reynaldo Tomas Cantu was born Aug. 11, 1980, in Algona; the son of Fernando “Ruben” and Maria del Rosario Teresa (Fuentes) Cantu. He grew up in Algona and graduated from Algona High School in 1999.
