JEWELL—Hanna Merron was the individual winner, and the Bishop Garrigan Golden Bear girls golf squad won the team title in the first round of the Class 1A regional tournament played at the Jewell Golf & Golf Country Club on Friday, May 16.

The black-and-gold had the low team total of the day with a 391 of the eight teams at the meet to claim the regional title on Friday and advanced to the regional on Wednesday at the Highland Park Golf Course in Mason City.
