MASON CITY—Mason City Newman, ranked No. 14 in Class 1A defeated the Bishop Garrigan Golden Bears softball squad by the final score of 9-0 in five innings in non-conference contest played on Tuesday, June 24.

The Knights broke open a scoreless game with six runs in the bottom of the second stanza and added three more tallies in the third frame in the five-inning victory.
