ALGONA—Algona swept a non-conference baseball doubleheader on Thursday, July 3 over the Charles City Comets, a team that will open Class 3A sub-state play against on July 11 at home.

The scores of the twin bill were 12-0 in five innings and 11-1 also in five innings as the red-and-black pounded out 27 hits in the two games, including five extra base hits.
