Take a Christmas tour of Algona decorations

“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” is one of my favorite songs. Pair it with one of my favorite Christmas traditions and it is a night of bliss.
I love to take a nighttime drive through the streets of Algona and admire the Christmas light displays on many of the homeowner’s lawns. Part of the fun is finding a whole neighborhood filled with jewel-like lights in the night sky. The wonderful people that put on great light displays often give a bit of a challenge to their neighbors. Often making a soft glow as you turn and drive into the neighborhood that has both large and small display. I know when I have found a good one when there is this collective “Ooos and ahhs” from my passengers as they enjoy pointing out brightly decorated trees, a nativity scene, or a giant 10-foot Santa.
