POLK CITY—Fifth-ranked North Polk showed why they are the Class 3A District No. 2 favorites with a 55-28 victory over the Algona Bulldogs on Friday, Sept. 24 in the district opener for both teams.

The Comets took advantage of a couple of short fields in the opening period to take a 14-0 lead and extended their advantage to 27-6 at intermission.
