ALGONA — Funeral Mass for Richard “Dick” Boisjolie was celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Edward Girres officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with military honors provided by V.F.W. Post #2541 and Hagg-Turner American Legion Post #90 of Algona.
Richard was born on Jan. 29, 1925, in Little Falls, Minn., the son of Leon and Ann (Whipple) Boisjolie. He graduated from Little Falls Community High School and soon after joined the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943 to 1945.
When he returned, he went to the University of Minnesota where he earned an economics degree in 1950.
On July 7, 1951, he married Mary Lou Seeley. He then held jobs at Carpenter Paper Company, General Electric and then for Jostens in Topeka, Kan., and Cambridge, Md., for a number of years. In 1972 he became a partner in a real estate business as an appraiser and eventually branched off to start R. L. Boisjolie Appraisals until his retirement. 
He will be remembered fondly for his hobbies of bird watching, reading, fishing and genealogy.
Richard L. Boisjolie, 92, of Algona, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary Lou; daughters, Nanci Boisjolie of Algona, and Susie (Joe) Muller of Algona, and sons, Paul (Carla) Boisjolie of Austin, Minn., and Richard (Jill) Boisjolie of Algona; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Joel “Joe” Boisjolie.
