Patrick R. Montag, 95, of Apple Valley, Minn., passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, in his residence at Ecumen Seasons in Apple Valley, Minn.
He was born Aug. 21, 1928, in West Bend to Adolf “Sam” Montag and Lauretta (Brodigan) Montag. He grew up in rural Whittemore where he graduated from Presentation Academy. After graduation, he attended Iowa State University before returning home to farm.
Funeral Mass for Stephen Kollasch was celebrated on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Inurnment was at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Whittemore.
A funeral service for Rey was held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Oakcrest Funeral Services in Algona. Visitation was held from 3 p.m. until the time of the service.
Reynaldo Tomas Cantu was born Aug. 11, 1980, in Algona; the son of Fernando “Ruben” and Maria del Rosario Teresa (Fuentes) Cantu. He grew up in Algona and graduated from Algona High School in 1999.
Funeral service for Clarence J. Bierstedt will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Henry Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Lynn Dreyer officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.
Clarence will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville.
Myrabel Morey Lillie passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2024, in Mesa, Ariz. She was born on Feb. 6, 1947, in Clearfield to Evelyn (McMath) and Dwight Morey.
William Frank Dau, age 95, of Algona passed away on May 28, 2024, at Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Visitation will be held at Lentz Funeral Home in Algona at 9:30 a.m. on July 5. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Briton Nelson officiating. Burial will take place after the memorial service, at Riverview Cemetery in Algona. Karen Speich, age 85 of Algona, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Monday, June 10 at First Lutheran Church in Algona. Kay Frances Greene, 81, of Hanover, Va. died on May 28, 2024. It happened unexpectedly while visiting Iowa.
Kay was born on March 11, 1943, to John Frank and Florence Louise (Watson) Seuferer in Mason City. Her father was killed in Normandy, France, on July 11, 1944.

James Marvin Muller was born April 19, 1949, the son of Raymond and Marie (Pfeffer) Muller. An Algona native, he graduated from Algona High School in 1969.
