Funeral Mass for Clem Kollasch was celebrated on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Whittemore with Father Merle Kollasch officiating. Burial was in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery.
Clement Michael Kollasch was born Dec. 14, 1934, in Whittemore, Ia., the son of Charles R. and Anna (Laubenthal) Kollasch. He grew up near Whittemore and graduated from Presentation Academy in 1952.

Ruth Verna Arend, 91, passed away on Jan. 28, 2018 at the Algona Manor Care Center, Algona. She was born June 6, 1926 to Lorenz and Eva (Lentsch) Gisch in Algona, Ia. She graduated from St. Cecelia Academy at the age of 16.

Clem Bisenius passed away on Saturday, Jan. 27, at Sunrise Retirement in Sioux City, Ia., at the age of 88.  He had lived in Sioux City since October of 2012.  A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31, with Rev. Jeremy Wind as celebrant and Clem’s first cousins, Rev. Merle Kollasch and Rev. Paul Eisele concelebrating.

Robert Paul Straub II, 58, of Sioux Falls, S.D., passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018. He was the husband of Debra and father to Graham and Daniel. Bob was born and raised in Algona, Ia., the son of Joseph J. and Mary C. Straub.

Jorine Isabel (Olson) Henely was born Oct. 16, 1924, in Bode, the daughter of Henry M. and Cora Sigvor (Opheim) Olson. She grew up and attended school in Bode, graduated from Bode High School. On July 7, 1943, Jorine married Richard P. Henely, Chicago. Jorine enjoyed playing golf, dancing, collecting and spending time with her family and friends.

Larry Vincent Nurre, 67, died on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017 while vacationing in Las Vegas, Nev. At the time of his death, Larry was a resident of Cascade Canyon Ranch in Culver, Ore. with his partner, Julia Palmer.
