Scott Robinson, age 35, of Altoona, formerly of Burt, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City. A celebration of Scott’s life will be held on Saturday, June 17 at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Algona. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time on Saturday, June 17 at the church.

Scott Allan Robinson, the son of Charles “Chuck” and Rochelle “Shelly” (Sarchet) Robinson, was born on Jan. 20, 1988, in Algona. He attended grade school in Burt and graduated from Algona High School in 2006. Scott then received an AA degree in criminal justice from DMACC. He was working as an Implementation Specialist for DHI Group, Inc. in Urbandale.

Scott was a huge family man who deeply adored his daughters. He loved family vacations and getting to experience different activities with his girls. Family traditions were a large part of Scott’s life. He was never to miss a cookie baking day (sometimes helping but always taste-testing) or a family celebration. He liked to be busy and enjoy all parts of life, like golfing, boating and 4-wheeling. He also thoroughly enjoyed his down time, watching action movies and playing Xbox. He constantly spoiled the girls; nothing brought him more joy than seeing them happy.

Scott was a passionate sports enthusiast, cheering on all Hawkeyes games, coaching Brynn’s volleyball team, watching many sporting events of his nieces and nephew, taking in local hockey games and watching any collegian or professional games. It was very fitting that his last days were right next to Kinnick Stadium, as the Hawkeyes were his #1 team. He also enjoyed cheering for the Chiefs.

Scott was a giving person who was always thinking of others. Whether it was keeping people company, finding others activities or deals, or just letting others know that he was there, you could always rely on Scott. He was a selective extrovert, mostly keeping to himself but definitely outgoing around those he loved.

Left to cherish Scott’s memory is his fiancée, Haley Pueschel, and their daughter, Rilynn, of Altoona; daughter, Brynn Robinson, from a previous marriage; parents, Chuck and Shelly Robinson, of Algona; siblings, Mindi (Mark) Spear of Algona and Travis (Rikki) Robinson of Ankeny; nieces and nephews, Jaden, Emma and Coyer Spear and Quinn and Kate Robinson; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his uncle Marc Sarchet and his grandparents.

In keeping with Scott’s wishes, those attending the Celebration of Life services are asked to wear Hawkeye or Chief’s attire.
