Jeanette Buscher, age 99 of Algona, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Homestead Assisted Living in Algona. Mass of Christian Burial was 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 17, at Divine Mercy Catholic Parish - St. Cecelia in Algona. Visitation was Sunday, March 16, at the Bishop Garrigan Chapel from 4 - 7 p.m. Interment took place at Calvary Cemetery. Mass was livestreamed via Lentz Funeral Home’s website. Services were entrusted to Lentz Funeral Home of Algona.

Jeanette Elizabeth Buscher, the daughter of August and Adelyn (Ruppert) Kunz, was born on Dec. 15, 1925, in Mallard. She graduated from High School in 1944. After high school, she attended college in Cedar Falls. On Aug. 5, 1946, Jeanette was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Buscher in Mallard. Jeanette worked at Harrison’s Variety Store and Pioneer. She was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Parish – St. Cecelia in Algona, the Kossuth Regional Health Center Auxiliary, and Cresco Mother and Daughter. Jeanette loved flowers, playing cards and visiting with people in the nursing home. She was known for her salads and desserts, especially her angel food cake.

Left to cherish Jeanette’s memory are her children, Linda Kohlhaas of Macedonia, Ill., Becky (Pat) Grandgenett of Algona and Jerry (Mary) Buscher of Algona; nine grandchildren; 25 great- grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, Robert “Bob”; children, Mickey and Marilyn; and son-in-law, Ronald Kohlhaas.
