Faye Elizabeth Kuhlmann the daughter of Casey and Ethel (English) Loss was born in Algona on April 9, 1940. She attended school in Algona and graduated from the Algona High School in 1958. Following her graduation she worked for the Security State Bank.

On March 29, 1959, which was Easter Sunday, Faye was united in marriage to Robert Lewis Kuhlmann. They were blessed with four children, Robert Linn, Kathy Kay, Casey Loss and Michael George.

Faye was a devout member of the Irvington Presbyterian Church, donating her time and efforts by helping with VBS, serving as an elder and sewing mission quilts.

Faye enjoyed coffee with her neighbor Susie Zeller and her children and their numerous 4-H activities. Her service and dedication to 4-H is exemplified by her helping to organize the Friends of Kossuth Youth and 4-H and later being inducted into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame.

Faye and Robert enjoyed being members of the Kossuth County Cowbelles and Cattlemen’s Associations. Through the years she helped with all the activities associated with the Kossuth County Fair where many lifelong friendships were formed.

She spent many hours with various sewing machines, her embroidery machine and quilting and pattern making. Her “Market” experiences, the Little Kuntry Barn business, working with Seams to Me, teaching classes and attending sewing retreats were things she enjoyed in the later years of life.

Faye especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the numerous sports activities they participated in.

Faye died peacefully Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona at the age of 82.

She is survived by her children, Bob (Mary) of Algona; Kathy (RaDann) of Armstrong; Casey (Nancy) of Chaska, Minn.; Mike (Kim) of Ottosen; grandchildren, Andrew and Matthew Paul, Jacob and Jessica Kuhlmann, Sarah Courtney, Alexander and Wyatt Kuhlmann, Hayden, Brooks and McKinley Kuhlmann and great-grandchildren, Weston and Sidney Paul, Adley Paul and Cormac Courtney.
