A “Celebration of Life” is planned for Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, from 2-5 p.m., at Call State Park shelter house in Algona.

Robert “Bob” B. Carlson of Nisswa, Minn. passed away on Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd, Minn. 
Funeral services for Bob will be held on Friday, Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd with Rev. Steve Benson officiating.

BURT — Arlene Wood, age 91 of Burt, passed away, Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at the Algona Manor in Algona. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., at Lentz Funeral Home in Burt with Rev. Ed Girres celebrating. Burial took place in Portland Township Cemetery in Burt.

On Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, Judy Boyken passed away suddenly at the age of 64. 
She is survived by her children Dan Boyken (Niki) and Amber Parcel (Dan), three grandchildren (Jordyn and Brianna Parcel and Ethan Boyken), father (Leslie Lawrence), brother (Richard Lawrence) and sisters (Barb Lawrence & Connie Morrison).  Judy will also be forever remembered by her extended family and friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at 11 a.m., at the Burt Presbyterian Church in Burt with Rev. Dr. Glenn Wilson officiating. Burial took place at East Lawn Cemetery in Algona. Visitation was held on Saturday from 9: a.m. until the time of the services at the Burt Presbyterian Church in Burt.

Funeral services was held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 26, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burt, with Rev. Mark Lavrenz officiating.  Burial was held in the Burt Township Cemetery.  Visitation was 4 – 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 25, at the Church.

LU VERNE — James Capesius, age 84, of Lu Verne died on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at the Algona Good Samaritan Care Center.  Mass of the Christian Burial was held on Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph, with Rev. Peter Nguyen celebrating.  Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.

ALGONA — Donna Lemkee, age 84, of Algona passed away peacefully at her home on Aug. 22, 2017.  Visitation was held Friday August 25th at Lentz Funeral Home in Algona.

ALGONA — A funeral service for Duane Hilsabeck, 52, of Algona, will be held on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, at 11 a.m., at the Burt Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Glenn Wilson officiating.  Burial will be in Burt Township Cemetery next to his mother, Doris.  His family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
