First Lutheran missionaries help 2018 hurricane victims
Fifteen teenagers and six adults from First Lutheran Church aided victims of Hurricane Michael during a mission trip to Panama City, Fla., in late July.
In October 2018, Michael, a Category 5 hurricane, hit Florida's panhandle. The last time a hurricane of that magnitude hit the U.S. mainland was Andrew in 1993. Since 1900, only two other hurricanes that strong have hit the mainland – Camille in 1969 and an unnamed hurricane in 1935.
