Algona Municipal Utilities showed a $184,187 loss in May from a $133,729 gain during the same time the previous year.
John Bilsten, general manager at AMU, believes this is due to the previous cold winter in Algona. AMU made revenue in May from water at $35,553, and communications, $15,275.
