Dolores Mae Hovey, 87, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Aug. 20, at Pinnacle Specialty Care in Cedar Falls. 
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Public visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway where there will be a 4 p.m. and a 7 p.m. vigil service and will continue for one hour before services on Thursday.
She was born Aug. 6, 1930, in Bancroft, daughter of Earl S. and Lenora Wilhelmi Kinsey. She married Eldon L. Hovey on May 14, 1950, in Blue Earth, Minn.
Dolores graduated from St. Cecilia Academy in Algona in 1947. She then started working as a telephone operator. The family moved to Hampton in 1959 where she worked as a bookkeeper for a John Deere Implement Dealer. In 1975 the family moved to Waterloo and Dolores began working at AM Blackhawk food services holding the position of office manager, she remained there for 14 years, retiring in 1989.
She is survived by her husband, Eldon; three sons, Theodore P. “Ted” (Andrea) Hovey of Rapid City, S.D., Robert J. (Karen) Hovey of Rapid City, S.D., and William R. Hovey or Urbandale; seven siblings, Elaine Pool of Denver, Colo., Robert (Janet) Kinsey of San Diego, Calif., Leah (Jack) Pyburn of Washington, N.C., William (Marlene) Kinsey of Columbus, Ohio, Tom (Susan) Kinsey of Huntington Beach, Calif., Janice (Mike) Sinclair of Des Moines, Wash. and Phillip (Lynda) Kinsey of Jupiter, Fla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A brother, Richard Kinsey and a sister, Jean Miner, preceded her in death.
