WB-M falls to eighth-ranked Panthers
Eighth-ranked Kingsley-Pierson built a comfortable first half lead and went onto a 40-24 eight-man football victory over the West Bend-Mallard Wolverines in a district-opening contest played at West Bend on Friday, Sept. 9.
The Panthers led 8-2 at the end of the first quarter before extending their advantage to 24-2 at halftime and the black-and-gold also led by the count of 32-10 heading into the final 12 minutes of play.
West Bend-Mallard’s only scoring of the first 24 minutes came in the first period when Kingsley-Pierson snapped the ball out of the back of the end zone for a safety.
In the third stanza, Danie Riesenberg hauled in a 52-yard scoring pass from quarterback Lincoln Fehr and Fehr successfully ran in the conversion try.
In the final quarter for the purple-and-gold, Trinton Schmidt grabbed a 65-yard touchdown pass from Fehr with Dexter Knobloch running in the successful two-point try.
