Warriors rally past North Iowa

North Union used a strong fourth quarter to rally for an exciting 57-55 Top of Iowa Conference boys’ basketball victory over the North Iowa Bison in a contest played at Buffalo Center on Friday, Jan, 12.

The visitors out-scored the Bison 17-10 in the final eight minutes of action to earn their third win of the season.  The Warriors won the game at the charity stripe by converting 22-of-28 chances on the night.

Both teams came out fast in the opening period as the home team led 18-16 after the first eight minutes of action.  Dominyk Price nailed four three-pointers for the Bison in the opening stanza while Robert Ortman drained two and scored 10 points for the green-black-and-silver in the frame.

The pace slowed down in the second quarter as North Iowa took a narrow 28-25 advantage into the locker room at intermission as Price led the blue-and-white with 15 points at halftime and Ortman had 12 for the Warriors.
