Mullen shines for North Union girls
Senior Kyarsten Mullen had a big day as the North Union Warrior girls’ track squad opened its 2017 season with an indoor meet held at the Buena Vista University indoor track in Storm Lake on Friday, March 17.
Running in the slow heat in each event, Mullen placed third in the 200-meter dash to earn the bronze medal in the event with her clocking of 28.99.
Kyarsten also ended up in fourth place in the 60-meter dash in 8.45 and was eighth in the 60-meter hurdles with her time of 10.33 with teammate Hope Steinberger finished in 10th in the high jump event with a leap of 4’ 8”.
Finishing in 14th place for the green-black-and-silver on Friday was the shuttle hurdle relay unit of Maddie Rolling, Kaylee Tirevold, Hallie Reese and Mullen in 45.88.
The distance medley relay quartet of Liz Stauffer, Maci Marlow, Rory McClellan and Steinberg ended up in 16th place with a clocking of 5:12.85.
