Fern Geerdes, age 99, of Algona, formerly of George, died Tuesday, June, 10, 2019, at Algona Manor in Algona.
Fern is survived by her children: Marlys (Dick) Wilsey of Firestone, Colo., Ruth Lindgren of Algona, Daryle (Donna) Geerdes of Concord, Calif.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Caroline Bush; husband Arthur Geerdes; son-in-law Bill Lindgren; five sisters; and four brothers.

Funeral services for Wilbur Christensen were Wednesday, June 19, at 11 a.m. at the Titonka United Methodist Church with Rev. Todd Hartsock officiating. Burial was in the Buffalo Township Cemetery.
Wilbur Harold Christensen was born Oct. 23, 1929, in Algona, the son of Clarence and Gladys (Bentley) Christensen. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Titonka High School in 1947. After his schooling he began farming.

Robert Lovstad, 96 of Burt, died Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Kossuth Regional Health Center, Algona. Funeral service were 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 14, at the First United Methodist Church in Algona. Charles Joens, age 92 of Martensdale formally of Algona, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Society Center in Indianola. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Algona with the Rev. Paul Avery and the Rev. Jeremy Kidder officiating. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery, Algona, with military rites conducted by the VFW Post #2541 and the Haag-Turner American Legion Post #90 of Algona. Visitation was 9 a.m.

Raymond “Joe” Metzen, age 86 of Omro, Wis., passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2019.
Joe was born in Bode on May 21, 1933. As a young man, he loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He took pride in being a builder and retired from Pickett Co-op. His hobbies included carpentry, playing cards, and if you couldn't find him in the house in the spring and summer, he was sure to be on his beloved lawnmower.

Elnora Hurlburt, age 85 of Algona, passed away on June 8, 2019, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Memorial services were Wednesday, June 12, at the United Methodist Church in Fenton. Inurnment took place at the Fenton Township Cemetery of rural Lone Rock. Visitation was Tuesday, June 11, at the Fenton American Legion.

Vivan Carroll-Steven, age 95 of Algona passed away April 29, 2019, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11 at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona. Inurnment will take place at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, S.D., on June 13, at 9:30 a.m.

Constance Joan Johnson was born Jan. 18, 1934, in Mason City, the daughter of Glen and Mildred (Sodawasser) Smith. She grew up in Mason City where she also attended school.
