On Oct. 19, 2020, our angel, Casey Dean Tweedy, age 34, finished his journey on earth and returned to Heaven. Casey passed away peacefully at Titonka Care Center from complications of COVID-19.

Charles J. Lickteig, a farmer rooted in faith, family and the rich black soil of Kossuth County, Iowa, died in Omaha, Neb., on Oct. 27, 2020 from complications of Parkinson’s disease. He was 89 years old.

Michael Alan Eischen

Michael Alan Eischen was born Jan. 13, 1956, in Algona, Iowa, the son of Harold and Mary Ann (Hauptly) Eischen. He grew up in Wesley, attended St. Joseph’s grade school and graduated from Bishop Garrigan High School in 1974. 
He was united in marriage to Marsha Kadlecik and to this union they had two children, Jessica and Nathan. They later divorced. 

JoAnne Hoover

JoAnne Hoover, 94, Titonka, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020, at the Titonka Care Center. Private family funeral Services were held Oct. 24 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Judy Junkermeier officiating. Burial took place at Buffalo Township Cemetery, Titonka. Public visitation was Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Masks were required. Services were livestreamed on Lentz Funeral Home’s Facebook page.

Funeral services for Gladys Fuerstenau will be Thursday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Whittemore with the Rev. Mark Resner officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church.

L. Joyce “Boots” Skilling, 78, Algona, died Wednesday at the West Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. A funeral Service was Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 10:30 a.m. at Oakcrest Funeral Services, Algona, with Pastor Cynthia Finn of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery.

Gary Berte, age 58 of Livermore, passed away Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020. A Private Mass of Christian Burial took place Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livermore with the Rev. Dan Guenther celebrating. Burial took place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Livermore.

Kenneth Eugene Banwart, son of Earl and Edna (Keller) Banwart, was born March 31, 1949, at his childhood home. Ken graduated from West Bend Community High School in 1967. At the age of 21, he began his walk with the Lord. His relationship with his Lord was his most treasured gift. He was a faithful member of the Apostolic Christian Church.

On Oct. 10, Marvin James Ostwald 81, was called to his heavenly home surrounded by his wife and three daughters at MercyOne Medical Center in Mason City. 
Marvin was born Sept. 4, 1939, in Whittemore, son of Herbert and Esther (Ostwald) Schmit. He attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Whittemore High School in 1957.
