Duane Alan Stecker was born March 27, 1958, at the Buffalo Center Hospital in Buffalo Center, the eighth of 10 children born to Martin B. and Laura (Anderson) Stecker.
Joan Gifford, age 88 of Burt, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, at the Algona Manor Care Center. Private family services were held Monday, Dec. 21, at the Lentz Funeral Home in Burt, with burial in the Burt Township Cemetery.
Gladys G. (Zeimet) Thill was born March 4, 1933, in St. Joe, the daughter of Henry W. and Lona (Illg) Zeimet. She grew up in Bancroft and graduated from St. John’s Catholic High School in 1951.
Graveside services for Georgiann Sanford were held at 11 a.m. Dec. 22 at the Lu Verne Cemetery in Lu Verne with Pastor Olympia Marcos presiding.
Georgiann Luetta Sanford was born Sept. 30, 1922, in Lu Verne, the daughter of Frederic and Mathilda (Gramenz) Baumgartner. She grew up near Lu Verne, where she attended school and graduated from the Lu Verne High School in 1941.
William Russell Nyman – “Russ” – was born Oct. 19, 1983, in Waterloo. He passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020, at Tucson Medical Center.
Russ was caring, selfless, hilarious, kind and full of life. He was a loving husband, father, son, grandson, uncle and a great friend to many.
Steven Garrett, age 67 of Burt, passed away Dec. 16 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Private family services were Tuesday, Dec. 22, at the Burt Presbyterian Church, with services live-streamed on the Lentz Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery in Emmetsburg at a later date.

Robert Joseph “Bob” Jorgensen was born Feb. 9, 1956, in Estherville the son of Milton “Milt” and Patricia (McDonald) Jorgensen. He grew up on the family farm and attended Swea City High School, graduating in 1974. Following graduation, he moved to Kentucky to pursue his dream of being a horse trainer. He eventually came back to Iowa where he attended Rochester Community College where he earned an Associates Arts Degree.
