Catherine “Katie” Thilges, age 89, formerly of Algona, passed away Sept. 30, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Urbandale. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Divine Mercy Catholic Parish – St. Cecelia in Algona. Burial will take place in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in St. Joseph. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

David passed away at home Sept. 28, 2021, surrounded by family at the age of 83.
He was born Aug. 20, 1938, in Algona, Iowa, the son of Adolph “Otto” Youngwirth and Mildred (Border) Youngwirth. He attended schools in St. Benedict and Algona. He loved traveling, fishing, camping and playing games with family and friends.

Joe O’Leary Guy, the son of Roy and Loretta (Curran) Guy, was born in Lu Verne, on Nov. 28, 1936. He graduated from Vernon Consolidated School and went on to Sioux Falls Baptist College. 
Joe married Eleanor Schwidder and to this union, they had five children, Dennis, Robin, Judy, Scott “Doc” and Brian.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 30, 2021, at First Lutheran Church in Algona with Reverend Dave Grindberg officiating. Burial was held in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation was held from 12 to 2 p.m. on Sept. 30 at First Lutheran Church in Algona.

 Ruby Nolan, age 80 of Bode, passed away Tuesday Sept. 21, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Memorial services will be held on Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode. Terry Cook, age 77 of Burt, passed away Sept. 16, 2021, at Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Visitation was held on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Burt Activity Complex. Burial will take place in Burt Township Cemetery at a later date with military rights conducted by the Iowa Army National Guard Honor Detail and the Burt VFW.
