Lee Dixon, age 83, of Burt passed away on Sunday Dec. 31, 2017 at his home.  Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Algona, with Rev. Joseph J. Straub III passed away Dec. 30, 2017 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center.  He is the son of Deacon Joseph J. and Mary Cash Straub, and the father of Joe IV and Betty Straub.  Born Oct. 13, 1956, in Rockville Centre, N.Y., he was 61 years old.

David Looft, age 77, a longtime farmer in the Fenton (Seneca) area passed away on Dec. 29, 2017 at Windsor Manor Assisted Living in Algona.  Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona, with Rev. Tom Schlund officiating.  Burial will be in the Blakjar Lutheran Cemetery in rural Seneca.  Visitation was held 4 - 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Trinity Life Center.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Oakcrest Funeral Services in Bancroft with Pastor Todd Hartsock officiating. Inurnment was in the Harrison Township Cemetery in Swea City.
