Thomas J. Brink

Thomas J. Brink, age 72, of Fenton, died Monday, March 23, 2020, at the Palo Alto County Hospital. Due to the regulations set by the Governor’s Public Health Disaster Declaration, no public visitation or service will be held at this time.
Thomas John Brink, son of Frank and Elaine (Gengler) Brink, was born April 22, 1947, in Whittemore, Iowa. He received his education at St. John’s School in Bancroft. Tom served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was inducted on Nov. 20, 1968, and was honorably discharged on June 12, 1970.
On Feb. 16, 1973 Tom was united in marriage to Susan Rentz at St. John’s Church in Bancroft. They were blessed with four daughters.
Tom was employed for several years at Stateline Co-op. He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Fairville, the American Legion and the N.R.A.
Barney, as he was known to his friends and family, was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He loved every aspect of being outdoors and taught all four of his daughters how to hunt and fish. Barney took great pride in his gardening and gave away lots of produce throughout the years. He also loved his chickens and the colored eggs they produced. Most of all, Barney loved his family.
Tom passed away Monday, March 23, 2020, at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, Iowa, at the age of 72. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elaine Brink, and a brother, Bill Brink.
He is survived by his wife, Susan of Fenton, Iowa; his daughters, Amanda (Josh) Hull of Altoona, Iowa, Sara (Zac) Angus of Des Moines, Iowa, Katie (Clint) Sires of Milford, Iowa, and Andrea (Rory) Sebert of Butler, Ind.; nine grandchildren; a sister, Mary Kunkel of Shakopee, Minn.; and many other relatives and friends.
