Randy J. Hinton
Sept. 13, 1951 — Oct. 7, 2016

CLEAR LAKE — A funeral service for Randy J. Hinton, 65, was held Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake with the Rev. David Bergquist officiating.  A private family internment was held at Greenwood Cemetery in Bancroft.
Randal ‘Randy’ James Hinton was born Sept. 13, 1951 in Lake City, son of James and Iris (Roseke) Hinton. The family lived in the Rutland and Fort dodge area before moving to Algona. Randy graduated from Algona High School in 1970. In 1971, Randy moved to Bancroft when he and his father purchased Bancroft Implement. In 1973, he married Jodi Elbert. To this union five children were born.
Randy was all about work, but cared just as much about helping people. He took his vision of growing his business from one implement dealership to 10, creating the Red Power Team. Randy was a tremendous father, grandfather, husband, boss and friend. His smile would light up a room and a quick joke would have the room in stitches.
Randy married Valerie Hayes on July 27, 2016. He loved being with her and his family at the lake house and at his acreage. He enjoyed driving his 1206 tractor and he spent much of his free time riding around the countryside with his dog, Emmy. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and boating.
Randy put up a great fight against cancer, but decided it was time to move on and be at peace. He passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, surrounded by his loving family, at the Mercy Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie Hinton, of Clear Lake; five children: Angie Hinton of Britt; Jamie (Michael) Knorr, of Clear Lake; Rob (Andrea) Hinton, of Humboldt;  Abbie (Ryan) Zimmerman, of Algona; and Joe (Chelsie) Hinton, of Clear Lake; two stepchildren: Bobby Hayes, of Des Moines, and Alex Hayes, of Clear Lake; 13 grandchildren: Bryce and Blake Baker; Jace, Maxton and Kasen Knorr; Eli and Eliot Hinton; Owen and Kaylee Zimmerman; Adalee and Emrik Meyer; and Ryker and Kyler Hinton. He is also survived by sister Lynette (Tom) Vaske, of Webster City, and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
