SWEA CITY — Noradel Larsen was called to her heavenly home on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong at the age of 92.
A funeral service was held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Swea City at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, with the Rev. Todd Hartsock officiating. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel. Interment was in Harrison Township Cemetery in Swea City.
Noradel E. (Dotson) Larsen, the daughter of Clem and Florence (Gochanour) Dotson was born Jan. 12, 1924, in Story County, Iowa.
She received her education and graduated from Seneca High School and continued her education at Hamilton Business College in Mason City.
On May 19, 1945, she married Harvey L. Larsen in Waukegan, Ill. Following their marriage, the couple farmed and raised their five children near Swea City.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Swea City.
Left to cherish Noradel’s memory are her husband of 71 years, Harvey of Swea City; daughter, Marcia (Duane) Holst of Lake City, Minn.; daughter-in-law, Laura Larsen of Des Moines; sons, Steve (Sandy) Larsen of Swea City; Chuck (Renee) Larsen of Seward, Neb.; Ronald Larsen of Manley; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Veloris Dotson of Cedar Falls; Eleanor Dotson of Moline, Ill. and Bernice Koster of Worthington, Minn.
Her parents; son, Leroy; one sister and five brothers have preceded her in death.
