LU VERNE — Jolene Wilhelm, age 86, of LuVerne, passed away on March 30, 2018, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 2, 2018, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lu Verne at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Steve Struecker officiating. Burial took place at the Lu Verne Cemetery. Visitation was held on Sunday, 4-7 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church in Lu Verne.
Jolene Jean Sanford Wilhelm, the daughter of Frank and Jessie (Satter) Sanford, was born on July 27, 1931, at the farm home near Lu Verne. She graduated in 1949 from Lu Verne High School. She married Milton Wilhelm on Feb. 8, 1951, in Badger.
Left to cherish Jolene’s memory are her husband, Milton, of Lu Verne; seven children, Linda Schwan of Walnut Creek, Calif.; Jennifer (Tom) Bilstad of Somers; Becky (Ed) Stewart of Gowrie; Joni (Randy) Dvorak of Bagley; Paula (Doug) Stanek of Fort Dodge; Patti (Jack) Hjelmeland of Harmony, Minn. and David (Beth) Wilhelm of Hardy; 25 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; one step great grandchild; sisters, Joanne Larson Melling, Donna Hovick and sister-in-law Georgiann Sanford. Preceding her in death were three grandsons (Eric and Michael Bilstad and Ross Dvorak), brothers; Francis, Wayne, Bob; sisters, Gen McGowan, Verda Trauger and Ramona Caudle.
