A memorial service for John F. Cady was held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Bethany Evangelical & Reformed Church in Ledyard, with the Rev. Samuel Belz officiating. Burial was in Highland Home Cemetery, Ledyard, with military honors conducted.
John Freeman Cady, 80, of Blue Earth, Minn., died Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Mayo Hospital in Mankato, Minn.
John was born in Madelia, Minn., on Oct. 16, 1937, the son of Frank W. and Vennie (Smith) Cady. He attended school in Madelia. John served his country for six years in the United States Army and was a member of American Legion Post #192 in Elmore, Minn.
John married Gail Bauman on Dec. 2, 1967, at Bethany Church in Ledyard. He worked at Green Giant in Blue Earth for 37 years before retiring in 2000. John enjoyed fishing, golfing, and traveling. He enjoyed making mission style furniture and spending time with his family and friends.
John is survived by his wife, Gail; daughters, Susan Cady of Mankato, and Patricia Cady of Algona; sisters, Mae Pufpaff and Erna (Jake) Gunter; brothers-in-law, Mark Bauman and Rocky (Maria) Bauman; sister-in-law, Jill (Rick) Danielson; and many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Vennie Cady; parents-in-law, William and Geneva Bauman; brothers, Howard Cady, Frank (Lorraine) Cady and Harry Cady; and brother-in-law Erwin Pufpaff.
