Clarine “Cookie” Leeck

Clarine "Cookie" Leeck, age 81 of Algona, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society in Algona. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 20, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Thomas Cowell officiating. Burial took place at East Lawn Cemetery in Algona. Visitation was held on Monday from, 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona.
Clarine Norma Leeck was born in Rake, Iowa on Aug. 4, 1936 to Chris and Clara (Stokkeboe) Leithe. Cookie was baptized on Sept. 20, 1936 and was confirmed on June 10, 1951 at Zion Lutheran Church. She graduated from Rake High School. On September 16, 1956, Cookie was united in marriage to Vernon Leeck at Trinity Lutheran Church. Cookie worked as a phone operator for the telephone company and helped Vernon at their family owned radio and TV store in Wisconsin. Her favorite job title was homemaker. Cookie put her family first in anything she did.
Cookie was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church and served on the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed fishing, taking trips with her family, enjoying rides on the motorcycle, whether it be for a trip or for a supper run, playing card, raising flower and vegetable gardens, and reading.
Left to cherish Cookie’s memory is her children, Bruce Leeck and his wife Lex of Stratford and Brenda Schramm and her husband Mark of Nemaha; grandchildren, Andrew (Deneille) Leeck, Jessica Schramm and Tara Schramm and great grandchildren, Onnah, Easton and Arya Leeck. She is preceded in death by her husband Vernon Leeck; parents; son, Steven Leeck and sister, Arlene Burma.
