Veterans will be thanked at Support Our Veterans Ride

LIVERMORE—Committee members say the community support has been amazing and they are expecting a great turnout for the 2nd Annual Support Our Veterans Ride on Saturday, August 19.

The ride for all vehicles will begin at the Livermore American Legion Otto Field Post 415. Sign-up will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m.  with motors set to rev and wheels will turn at 10:45 a.m.

First Sentral class reminisces

FENTON—The Sentral High School Class of 1958 celebrated their 65th reunion at the North Star Restaurant in Fenton on Friday, July 28. Fifteen class members and five guests attended from the class of 39 members.

How did you get into teaching?

Upon completion of a college degree from the University of Northern Iowa, my first teaching position was as a Title I Reading teacher at Bryant Elementary in Algona.

Why did you become a teacher?

I LOVED school! I was inspired by my third grade teacher.

Mills 40th

Kevin and Sandra Mills of Algona will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on August 13.

Their family includes Heather and her children, Briggs and Ivy; Whitney and Bill and their children, Michael, Makenna and Millie; and Blake and Stefanie and their children, Beckett and Camden.

Jenson competing at  Iowa State Fair

Hannah Jenson of Algona, 9-year-old daughter of  Emilie and Scott Jenson, has qualified for Iowa State Fair’s Bill Riley Talent Search. Jenson qualified by receiving first place in the Sprouts Division of a local qualifying round of the statewide talent show at the Emmett County Fair in Estherville on July 28.
