JOHNSTON—Today Navigator CO2 Ventures announced the cancellation of their proposed Heartland Greenway Project that was set to span across the Midwest. The project would have connected ethanol plants across several states and transported CO2 to underground sequestration sites, meeting goals for a low carbon future and boosting agriculture markets. In response to this announcement, Iowa Renewable Fuels Association Executive Director Monte Shaw made the following statement:

DES MOINES—After a heated two-year battle with landowners across the midwest, Navigator Heartland Greenway has officially announced defeat of their contentious hazardous carbon pipeline. The historic news comes on the heels of resistance in Iowa, South Dakota, Illinois, Minnesota, and Nebraska by a diverse coalition of landowners, environmentalists, local governments and community groups.

Secretary of Ag Naig says harvest takes big step forward, soybeans nearing completion

DES MOINES—Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig has commented on the Iowa Crop Progress and Condition Report released by the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service.

The report is released weekly April through November. Additionally, the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship provides a weather summary each week during this time.
