ALGONA — Funeral services for Judith Ludwig were celebrated on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona with Rev. Tom Schlund officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery.

Judith Faye Ludwig was born March 14, 1941, in Algona, the daughter of Leonard and Juanita (Potter) Baas. She grew up in Whittemore where she attended school and graduated from the Whittemore High School in 1959. After her schooling Judy went to work for Dr. Robert Dewel in his dentist office until he moved out of town.

On July 10, 1960, Judith married Donald “Donnie” Ludwig in Whittemore. In February of 1961, Judy went to work at the Credit Bureau of Kossuth County. In April of 1972, she purchased the business and continued to run it until recently when her health failed. They both loved to travel and never visited the same place twice. The enjoyed visiting new and different places. They also enjoyed attending country music concerts KRNT Theater in Des Moines.

Judy enjoyed shopping, traveling, shopping, photography, shopping, spending time with her Red Hat Ladies, but most of all shopping. She was a member of the Soroptimist International of Algona, serving as a past president, vice president and secretary and was a member of the Association of Credit Bureaus of Iowa. Judy was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Judy died Saturday, July 7, 2018, at the Algona Manor Care Center in Algona. She was 77.

She is survived by a brother, Floyd and wife, Betty Baas of West Bend; sister, Diane and husband, Terry Carpenter of Council Bluffs; sisters-in-law, Sandy (Bill) Devereaux of Pocahontas; Shirley Ludwig of Bode; Patricia Ludwig of West Bend and Elaine Ludwig of Churchville, Md., and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Donald on March 20, 2018.
