David Nemmers, age 72, of Algona passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at his home. Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m., on Monday at the Lentz Funeral Home in Algona. There will be a 7 p.m., flag presentation by VFW Post #2541 and the Hagg-Turner American Legion Post #90 of Algona.
David Paul Nemmers, the son of Clarence and Martha (Steffey) Nemmers, was born on March 9, 1946, in Bancroft. David attended St. John’s High School in Bancroft. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. On March 26, 1973, David was united in marriage with Sharon Ward in Biloxi, Miss. David worked at SNC manufacturing in Emmetsburg as a material handler. He enjoyed fishing and outdoor activities.
Left to cherish David’s memory is his wife of 45 years, Sharon; children, Francis (Mark) Clark of Petal, Miss, William (Paula) Nemmers of Lumberton, MS, Theresa (John) Beik of Britt and James (Kristi) Nemmers of Algona; 10 grandchildren; four sisters, Maxine Kollasch of Bancroft, Linda (Charlie) Carlson of Tipton, Colleen (Roger) Ulses of Bancroft and Mary Pat Nemmers of Bancroft; and two brothers, John (Kathy) Nemmers of Algona and Tom Nemmers of Garner. His parents; a daughter, Susan Morris; and five brothers, Eugene, DeWayne, Kenneth, James and Steven Nemmers, preceded him.
