ALGONA — Karl Johnson, age 82, of Algona passed away on Monday May 21, 2018, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Karl Hugo Johnson, Jr., the son of Karl Hugo and Lucille (Pelcher) Johnson, Sr., was born Sept. 27, 1935, in Algona. Karl enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1958, and was honorably discharged in 1964. On Sept. 4, 1982, Karl married Dianna Miller at the Congregational Church in Algona. Karl worked construction most of his life. After construction, he worked as a custodian at the Algona High School, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, following NASCAR and crossword puzzles.
Left to cherish Karl’s memory is his wife of 35 years, Dianna; a son, Terril Johnson and his wife Lynn of Algona; and two sisters, Avis of Arizona and Fern of Oregon. His parents; two sisters, Doris and Sherry; and a brother, Clyde Johnson, preceded him in death.
