Lloyd and Barbara (Thilges) Schilmoeller were married May 11, 1968 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Algona by Monsignor Percy P. Gearen, and they will celebrate their 50th anniversary this year. They have resided in Algona their entire lives. Lloyd is a former mechanic and auto repair business owner, and Barbara is a former legal secretary and judicial clerk. They were both involved with the environment committee at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church. Lloyd was interested in tinkering and working on projects, while Barbara was into gardening and baking. They both highly enjoyed traveling and spending time at the lake. Their son Ryan and his wife Michelle of Omaha, Neb., along with five grandchildren, are encouraging friends and loved ones to shower them with cards to help them celebrate.
