Richard “Dick” Sjogren, age 97, of Algona passed away on April 19, 2018 at the Hawkeye Care Center in Bancroft. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
Richard Ralph Sjogren, the son of Gustav and Magdalena (Perth) Sjogren, was born on January 31, 1921 in Algona, Iowa. He graduated from Algona High School. Dick served the United States Army during World War II. After his time in the service, Dick owned and operated Sjogren Grocery until 1974. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and Moose Lodge.
