Wild comeback win for Warrior girls

Lead Summary

After scoring just 37 points in the first 24 minutes of the game, the ninth-ranked (Class 2A) North Union Warrior girls’ basketball team erupted for 33 points in the fourth quarter and 18 more in overtime to rally for an 88-79 win over the Bishop Garrigan Golden Bears.
The green-black-and-silver pounded the ball inside in the final eight minutes, making 10-of-15 shots, including nine in the paint but it still took some missed free throws by the home team and a three-pointer with two seconds to play to force an extra four minutes in the contest played at Algona on Friday, Jan. 26.
Hallie Reese, who tallied a game-high 31 points in the game, opened the scoring but the black-and-gold answered immediately with a three-pointer from senior Grace McGuire.
