‘Too much height’

Lead Summary

Height is one of the things you cannot coach in the game of basketball and the Bishop Garrigan Golden Bear boys’ basketball team used it to their full advantage in a 70-52 non-conference victory over cross-town Algona in a game played at Bishop Garrigan on Thursday, Dec. 21.
In front of crowded gym that was standing-room only, the black-and-gold out-rebounded the red-and-black 45-20 to overcome the 27 turnovers the black-and-gold squad committed against Bulldogs’ quick, hustling defense.
“It was a great atmosphere for a high school basketball game,” said Bishop Garrigan Head Coach Harry Condoleon.  “There was great support on both sides of gym and fans were very loud.  I thought our boys came out ready to play and it was a lot of fun.
