STEM fun in Fenton

During a STEM session for homeschool students at the Fenton Public Library, the kids created grabbing tools designed to perform specific functions such as scooping, pinching and gripping. They learned about fulcrums and levers as they experimented with creating the most effective tools.

Touring KRHC

The Fenton North Union Elementary first graders toured Kossuth Regional Health Center on Thursday, October 19. Students toured the surgery area,  they learned the importance of getting an IV and how the hospital with doctors and nurses is a safe place if you are sick.

Learning safety tips

The Fenton Elementary hosted the Fenton Fire Department during Fire Prevention and Safety Week in October.

All classes went outside to see the trucks and the equipment. Firemen Wade Potratz and Chad Potratz answered questions from the students. Every student received a water bottle filled with pencils and other goodies from the department.

Trunk and Treat 2023

ALGONA—Trunk or Treat at the Algona 1st United Methodist Church will be Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

If you’re looking for a safe, fun event that isn’t scary, this is the place to go. Everyone is welcome. There will be free popcorn, candy, cotton candy, hot dogs and drinks.

This popular annual event is sponsored by the Algona 1st United Methodist Church, the First Congregational UCC, Fareway, Hy-Vee and Fridley Theater.
