Edwin Asche

Lead Summary

Edwin Eugene Asche was born Dec. 26, 1937, in Lakota, the son of Thomas and Jenny (Spear) Asche. He married Gloria Goeke on Sept. 27, 1958, in Elmore, Minn.
Edwin was known to have a little stubborn side to him. He was very devoted to his wife Gloria, and they were a lot alike, very caring, kind-hearted and loving people. He was always at the will of his three daughters and was their “rock” throughout the years. Up until Eddie got sick, Julie and Jodie still looked to him for advice.
In Edwin’s younger days he had a passion to hunt. He made numerous trips to Wyoming to find that perfect Antelope. Edwin worked all of his life on the farm raising pigs and chickens and tending to his land. After retiring from farming, he took much pride in caring for and mowing Good Hope Cemetery. He served many years on the Good Hope Church Council and fulfilled other duties of the church. He also was a courier for Titonka Savings Bank.
Towards the end of his life he would look at his daughters and say, “I love you,” often and encouraged them to never argue. He did receive his Christmas and Birthday wish of being with his wife and daughter, Darla, in Heaven. Edward E. Asche died Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at the Titonka Care Center at the age of 80.
Surviving Edwin are his two daughters Julie Johnson of Forest City and Jodi Anderson and her husband, Gerald, of Britt, and a grandson Trevor Johnson of Forest City. His parents; his wife Gloria on Dec. 8, 2018; his daughter Darla Asche on May 21, 2015; and a brother Wilbur Asche preceded him in death.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Titonka with burial in the church cemetery. Oakcrest Funeral Services of Titonka is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made to www.oakcrestfuneralservices.com.
